Born and raised in Istanbul, Güneş Özgeç has left her mark as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and producer across various stages of music production. Evolving her mesmerizing sound from acoustic beginnings to incorporating electronic elements, Güneş has crafted a style uniquely her own.
She supported Belle and Sebastian and collaborated with various esteemed Turkish musicians including Mor ve Ötesi, Kalben, Mabel Matiz and Brek.
Güneş began releasing singles in 2018, including "Kahve", "Ikaria" and "Sonbahar" setting the stage for the introspective "Güneş Yüzüm" in 2020. She independently produced and arranged her music, sharing singles like "Bence Gerçek Hepsi" and "Düş" in 2021.
In March 2024, Güneş Özgeç unveiled her debut album, "Kertenkele Kraliçe’nin Zamansız Masalları" ("The Timeless Tales of the Lizard Queen"). This collection of seven songs delves into the concept of "time", exploring memories, dreams, possibilities, surprises, and the relativity or absence of time, drawing inspiration from significant encounters in Güneş's life. The album title nods to Jim Morrison's iconic words, "I am the Lizard King, I can do anything.".
Güneş masterfully blends nostalgic and modern, acoustic and electronic tones, bridging the gap with her instrumentation and arrangement approach. Her songs evoke a sense of warmth and closeness while offering subtle reflections on societal memory.
